Peter and Paul Museum of Local Lore

632925, Novosibirsk region, Petropavlovskoye village of Kasnozersk district NSO

About the company:

The Petropavlovsk Museum of Local Lore was created as a result of the collected material by members of the local lore circle of the Petropavlovsk School of Krasnozersk District. The circle began to work under the guidance of the history teacher of Bakhmatsky Nikolai Moiseevich. The collected documents about the history of the village, its residents and veterans, photographs, etc. became the first exhibits of the school museum, which was opened on November 7, 1987. And from March 1, 1993 it was transformed into the Peter and Paul Museum of Local Lore.

Currently, the Petropavlovsk Museum of Local Lore is a museum complex occupying an area of 0.7 hectares. It offers visitors a hall of ethnography and archeology, a hall of combat and labor glory, a hall of history of education in the village, a hall of history of the village of Petropavlovka. The funds of the museum include: the main fund is 3523 items, the scientific and auxiliary fund is 2661 items. The exhibits include a handmade buffet in 1946, a wooden bed of the early XX century, a collection of towels (embroidered towel) and other ancient household items, materials of the Great Patriotic War and Stalinist repressions. But the real gem of the museum is the open-air museum. The museum is the street of the first settlers reconstructed in 2005, on which there are a bath, a forge, a dugout, a well, two houses: a patchwork (from clay layers of earth) and a samanuha (from clay and straw). Inside the houses are the exact details of the interior and life of the late XIX century. Graphically, detail by detail restored the atmosphere of the past, created as a result of a unique, unlike anything a work of museum art.
