The Cathedral Mosque in November

The Cathedral Mosque in Noyabrsk is a huge modern Muslim shrine, which was officially opened in October 2004 – the day of the celebration of the city day. This is the largest mosque in the entire Tyumen region and the second largest in Yamal.

The cathedral mosque is located near a large park, in the north of Noyabrsk, in the north-western part of Russia. The decision to build this religious building was made in March 1997, and in May 1998 construction work began. Money was invested in the project as the building was built – various enterprises, entrepreneurs and citizens themselves helped.

The mosque is not only an important spiritual, but also an educational center of Noyabrsk – it operates a Muslim spiritual school, where children learn Arabic, Islam, read the Koran. Near it there are many green flower beds, which are baked by volunteers to create a fragrant atmosphere around the mosque.
