The Museum of Fine Arts is a structural subdivision of the Museum Resource Center. Until 2001 it existed in the status of the Yamalo-Nenets District Museum of Fine Arts. The mission of the museum is to meet the high spiritual needs and aspirations of the population, to orient the younger generation in the system of ethical and aesthetic values. It is a center of scientific research in the field of studying the possibilities of museum communication, a prestigious city exhibition platform, an initiator of the development and stimulation of the creative potential of local artists, a reliable partner of socially demanded projects and programs aimed at the implementation of socially significant needs. In accordance with the social order of the city and the requirements of modernity, on January 10, 2002, an independent structural unit was created as part of the Museum Resource Center - the Museum of Urban History. The fund base of the Museum was collections on ethnography, geology, archaeology, history of the city, previously existing on the basis of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Children's Museum. For three years of work, the museum staff managed to replenish the funds with historical and ethnographic material. The city's help is invaluable. The main goal of the Museum is the formation of historical consciousness among the residents of the city, the awakening of a steady interest in Russia, in their “small Motherland”, the upbringing of a careful attitude to the cultural and historical heritage of the Fatherland, the education of a personal attitude and a value approach to cultural and historical phenomena; the presentation to the general public and the preservation of the original culture of the indigenous peoples of the North – Khanty, Nenets, Mansi, Selkups. Currently, the Museum of Urban History is working on the creation of a permanent exhibition on the history of the city and the region, as well as on the creation of complex projects on ethnography, local history, archaeology, including sociological research, collection of museum exhibits (search work among residents of the city, expeditions to national communities, work with archives of enterprises) development and implementation of traveling exhibitions; cultural and educational programs for a diverse audience: interest clubs, classes, lectures, etc. The Museum of Urban History is still very young (however, our city is young) and is only defined by the concept of its development. The basis of the Museum’s activities was partner projects with city organizations capable of providing scientific and fund material, as well as city residents interested in preserving the history of the city. |

Visiting and exchange exhibitions:
"Graphics 80-90-ies", presented the works of graphic artists of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vladimir, Ufa. Performed in the technique of etching and linocut works by V. Tambovtsev, B. Franzzov, V. Ushakov, V Tumanova, E. Saitov, S. Kharlamov is distinguished by the picturesque and emotional manner, the freedom of stroke and the unusual subtlety of light shade. Graphic cycles “Heroes of the folk epic”, “Based on the works of A. Akhmatova”, “Rural urban landscape” create a rich palette of psychological characteristics of the characters, full of colorful expressiveness of the picture of being
(25-30 works).
Lyrical Landscape of I. Pustoshkin (a collection of watercolors purchased from the author in 1990). The main load in the works of the master falls on the image of clouds, their movement and light
effects that give watercolors an epic sound and at the same time a quiet poetic and intimate. The world of Pustoshkin’s works is surprisingly simple and understandable to everyone. Any of his works is the gaze of a citizen who appreciates every moment of communication with the Earth (30 works).
Kaslin casting. The history of this unique fishery goes back to the last century. The path to creating true masterpieces of art is covered with the names of talented Russian sculptors Kanaev, Klodt, Bach. Academic knowledge of sculptors masterfully embodied in perfect, unique forms, and rich in forests, beasts and berries Ural land suggests unique artistic subjects. Next to the creations of famous sculptors, objects of an applied nature are rightfully adjacent: drawing plates, candlesticks, openwork frames ... The gold fund of Ural craftsmen consists of numerous animalistic sculptures, mythological and literary subjects.
