The museum was founded in 1958. Until 1967, it was on the balance sheet of the City Council, from 1967 to 1993 - on the balance sheet of the metallurgical plant. Since 1993 it has received the status of a municipal museum. The collections of the museum contain materials on the history of the city and the district, mainly of the XIX-XX centuries. In 1986, an exposition on the history of the city in the twentieth century was designed. A re-exposition has been held since 1998. The concept of development of the museum in general and exposition activities in particular is being developed. In 1999-2000 an exposition on the history of Nytva in the XIX - early XX centuries was created. Part of the new exposition was the diorama "Nytvenskaya fair" (in total in the area of 5 dioramas). A new direction appeared in the work of the museum - museum pedagogy. Work is underway on 4 programs for preschoolers, schoolchildren and socially vulnerable segments of the population. Attendance increased 2.5 times. |
The building has the status of an architectural monument of the XIX century. A separate 2-storey stone building. |
