Skiing across Baikal
Description:
The most unique ski route is Cross-country skiing across Baikal. Only for trained skiers!
Start from Irkutsk at 09:00, I pick you up from anywhere.
If you do not have skis, we go to the ski base (in Irkutsk) and pick up a set for you (if possible, this issue is better solved in advance).
Scheme of our route: Irkutsk - Art. Moving - Slyudyanka - Irkutsk.
Description: 1 part of the route - the ski gradually descends to Baikal (the length of the descent is about 15 km). It is very important to have the technique of skiing down the mountain. The ski passes under the bridge of the old Circum-Baikal Railway.
2 part of the route - along Baikal. Also about 15 km. The state of the ice surface of Baikal can be different. Sometimes perfect for riding. Sometimes covered with snow. Weather conditions are also important. Wind, snow and blizzards can cause additional complications.
The length of the path takes about 3.5-5 hours, the average speed is about 8 km / h, the total length of the path is about 30 km.
If you don’t have any ski clothes, let them know in advance. And I'll figure something out.
