Vessels from Irkutsk reached the delta of the Idin-Gol River along the Angara and Baikal, and from here they crossed Baikal to get into the Selenga River Delta. The village got its name because of the “bare” treeless banks of the Idin-Gol River, and the same name was given to the river and the cape.
