Freeride tour on Hamar Daban

DAY 1

Meeting of participants in Irkutsk at 9 am at the railway station. Get in the minibus at 10 a.m. We will pick up from the airport and railway station.

We go on the highway M55 "Baikal" in the direction of Ulan-Ude. Go 190 km. The road usually takes 3.5 to 4 hours. On the way we make stops in Kultuk (it is 100 km from Irkutsk). There is a beautiful view of Baikal. Then in Baikalsk we will stop at the cafe Nomad for lunch. It's not far from here. We go to the valley of the Mamai River, where at the Heart of Mamai tourist base we will unload from the bus, disassemble our belongings, have tea and start our journey by skiing and snowmobile. Here you can leave extra city things and ski covers.

The skiers are walking light, the cargo is on a snowmobile. (It is possible to throw snowboarders and others on a snowmobile to the place for an additional fee.) Walk on the winter 8 km. This usually takes 2 to 2.5 hours.

But at the end of the valley we are waiting for a warm winter, tea, dinner and snowy silence of the mountains.

We're staying in the house. Dinner and group introduction.

DAY 2

Get up at 8 a.m. Breakfast and head to the hillside.

Lecture and practical classes on avalanche safety before lunch. Then we climb up and plow the endless snowy expanses. 1-2 descents per day.

In the evening, we gather by the fire, dinner and disassemble today's skating.

DAY 3

Get up at 8 a.m. Breakfast. Slope.

Scenes of ascent to the surrounding gorge tops and unforgettable descents. In a day we can make 2-3 descents. The height of 500-900 meters.

Let's go home. Dinner. We gather by the fire, have dinner and sort out today's skating.

DAY 4

We'll rest tonight. We get up a little later, have breakfast, go to the slope and do 1-2 climbs and descents, to familiar places. Let's get home for lunch.

Lunch, bath. Movie night.

DAY 5

And the fight goes on again! As usual: get up at 8 a.m. Breakfast ... slope.

DAY 6

The usual. But we have to roll today. Technological improvement. Looking for new places. We'll roll to full satisfaction. In the evening, as usual: dinner, discussion and a movie.

DAY 7

The morning starts as usual, but we have to leave. We're going. Farewell look at the gorge, at our home and on the way! Descent down by ski or snowmobile. The journey down usually takes no more than an hour. We pack and drive to the village of Vydrino. You already have civilization! At 14:45 we get into a comfortable seated car to Irkutsk and from the window we see the departing Hamar-Daban and the greatness of Baikal.

In the evening we will have a walk through the beautiful city of Irkutsk and, of course, a farewell dinner.
