Baikal's Spring Breath

1 day

Welcome to Irkutsk! It does not matter whether you arrived by plane or came to us by train – we meet you at the exit with a sign! We will wait a little with you to get your baggage (if you are off the plane), and then get together with the whole group, get in the car and go!

We'll be on the road for about 4 hours. But it will not be just a transfer: there will be excursion stops in the most interesting places. And lunch will be in the yurt, where you can immediately try dishes of Buryat national cuisine! Just keep in mind that almost all Buryat cuisine is meat.

We stay on the shore of Baikal in the area of the Strait of the Small Sea, we are placed in comfortable rooms of the recreation center. Here we are already resting from the flight, admiring the beautiful views of Baikal, dining, walking along the shore ... if someone, of course, still has the strength. For dinner, by the way, you can try different variations of cooking Baikal fish.

2 days

 

Today we are on a hovercraft (Khivus) going to Olkhon. But we will not just move from one place to another, we will definitely visit a couple of islands of the Small Sea, including the famous island of Ogoi – a place of pilgrimage for many Buddhists, because since 2005 the island has been the sacred Buddhist stupa of Enlightenment. This is a very strong energy place and many people come here to meditate and make wishes. You can do it too!

Upon arrival to Olkhon – accommodation at the recreation center in the village of Khuzhir (well-equipped double rooms). Here you will definitely walk with a guide to Cape Burkhan (shamanka rock) - this is the main holy place of shamanists of all Asia (after all, one of the main spirits of the lake lives here), and for tourists - this is the "business card of Baikal".
If you wish, you can meet a real shaman (only we will need to know about your desire in advance!).

3 days

Today you will have a trip to the very north of Olkhon. By UAZ you will go to the most mystical and, at the same time, one of the most beautiful corners of the island - Cape Khoboy (40 km). This point is the tip of the island and with good visibility you can see the opposite shore of Lake Baikal! This is the widest distance between the two sides.

4 days

We leave Olkhon and get into the Martian expanses of the Tazheran steppes! Jeeps will allow us to drive to the most beautiful and unique corners of these places, where ordinary tourists rarely get! Wild coves, rock-remainers, stone valleys, breathtaking views ... And the primrose fields.

Today we will stay overnight at the eco-base in 2 – 3 – 4 local rooms. If desired, go to the bath with a natural font!

5 days

 

After breakfast, we get into the minibus and go further, because we have to get to P. Listvyanka today.

We will have lunch in Irkutsk (we will pass through it).

But before arriving in Listvyanka, we will visit the architectural and historical museum under the open sky “Taltsy”. This museum is a real Siberian village: a whole street of houses, a tavern, a rural school, a volost government, a real Siberian prison with towers and a palisade.

And in the evening after accommodation in the hotel - walks on Listvyanka. This village is called "Gateway to Baikal" - because it is the closest point on Lake Baikal from the city of Irkutsk!

Here is the largest souvenir and fish market on Baikal, there is the most civilization and even asphalt on the central road, but this road in Listvyanka ends. There is no further road on Baikal!

Excursion day in P. Listvyanka. Today you will finally rest from long journeys and our tour will be more like a walk.

 

6 days

• Visit the ancient temple of St. Nicholas;
• visit to the Baikal Limnological Museum (plants and animals of Baikal + aquariums with the inhabitants of Baikal, Baikal seal - seal);
• A walk to the Chersky Stone is a beautiful sightseeing peak, offering a cool view of the source of the Angara and the Port of Baikal (we are planning a walk, but if you are lazy, you can climb the cable car).

7 days

This festive day we will dedicate with you a historical excursion by train on the famous Circum-Baikal Railway. We think that you have already read a lot about it on the Internet, so we will not tell you what interesting man-made tunnels, galleries, protective walls and arched bridges are here. You will see and feel these objects with your own hands. They are over 100 years old, 7 days old.

But you and I will not travel by train to Irkutsk. We're not there yet! We'll go with you to Arshan today. This is a beautiful village located in the Tunkin Valley in the foothills of the Eastern Sayans. Fantasticly beautiful landscapes!

Distance: 90 km by train + 120 km by minibus.

8th day

Today we have a day dedicated to walking around Arshan – there are mineral springs (by the way, for the stomach, for the eyes, for the liver! – we will treat) and Buddhist datsan, and waterfall, and even a real Mongolian market! We highly recommend you to buy souvenirs here for your friends and family. Real hair and leather, and the prices are very loyal!

It is time to say goodbye to nature and go to Irkutsk!

 

9 days

But if you wish, we can go to hot springs, and you (in addition to mineral springs) will receive a portion of usefulness for your bones and joints!

Of course, one visit to the sources for treatment is not enough, but at least enjoy!

In the evening you will arrive in Irkutsk. We're staying in a hotel. Who has the strength to walk in Irkutsk – no problem!
