Acquaintance with Baikal

Listvyanka, Taltsy Museum, Baikal Museum

Meeting with the guide at 09:30 in the morning at the airport or at the railway station of Irkutsk, acquaintance, receipt of luggage.

Then transfer to Listvyanka, located on the shore of Lake Baikal, 70 km from Irkutsk.

On the way, we will visit the architectural and ethnographic open-air museum - Taltsy, where we will see ancient wooden buildings, get acquainted with the life of the indigenous peoples of the Baikal region.

After visiting Taltsov, we go to Listvyanka.

Hotel accommodation.

Lunch.

After lunch, we will visit the Baikal Museum, where you will get acquainted with the underwater world of Lake Baikal, see Baikal fish, and even dive to the bottom of Lake Baikal in an interactive bathyscaphe.

After visiting the museum, you have free time.

We recommend visiting the Baikal seal show. These intelligent animals dance, sing and even paint pictures (one of them can be purchased as a souvenir).

Take a look at the fish and souvenir market, or climb the Chersky stone, where there is a good observation deck, which offers a wonderful view of Baikal.

Back to the hotel.

Dinner at your own expense in one of the restaurants Listvyanka.

Circum-Baikal Railway

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today we are going on a tour of CBR. From Listvyanka we cross to the Port of Baikal, from there our journey on the Circum-Baikal Railway will begin.

Circum-Baikalka is a unique complex museum and one of the main attractions of Baikal, a unique monument of architecture and engineering art, part of the Trans-Siberian Railway and one of the most beautiful places in the Baikal region.

Arrival in Irkutsk at about 21:00. Hotel transfer.

Olkhon Island, Cape Burhan

Preparations before departure. We take a minibus to Olkhon Island.

Lunch at your own expense in a roadside cafe.

Arrive at the ferry crossing, where you will first see Little Baikal and the island itself.

Passing by ferry through the strait, we get to Olkhon.

Transfer by UAZ car to the tourist base.

Accommodation, dinner.

After dinner, walk to the beautiful and mysterious Shamanka Rock.

Hoboi Cape

After breakfast, we go on a tour to the northernmost cape of the island – Khoboy (translated from Buryat – “fang”).

The road will pass through the Peschanoe tract, which with its sandy dunes and vegetation reminds many of the Baltic States. On Khoboya your eyes will open the boundless expanses of Baikal, which merge with the horizon.

Lunch in nature from fresh Baikal ears and omul on facial hair.

After lunch, we go to the pad of Uzury, near which is the highest mountain of the island of Zhima and the deepest place of Baikal.

Back to base, dinner.

Water trip to the island of Ogoi

Today we are going on a trip to Baikal by boat.

We sail past small Baikal islands, the ship crosses the Small Sea, and you find yourself on the mainland.

On foot, we go to the healing spring of Surhayta, the crystal clear waters of which help from various diseases.

After eating healing water and lunch, we go to the island of Ogoi.

The island is known for its Buddhist Stupa of Enlightenment. It includes various Buddhist relics and a bronze statuette of the Dakini Troma Nagmo, considered in Tibetan Buddhism the mother of all Buddhas.

For the first time such a stupa of enlightenment was erected in India on the place where the Buddha found enlightenment. The stupa in modern interpretation symbolizes the goal of the Buddhist path – recognition of one’s own mind, full enlightenment.

According to legend, if you walk around the Stupa three times and make a wish, it will come true.

Back to base, dinner.

Return to Irkutsk

After breakfast and fees, we are waiting for a transfer to the ferry crossing at UAZ (departure time is 12.30).

After the ferry crossing by minibus we go to Irkutsk.

Lunch on your own in a roadside cafe.

The end of the program in Irkutsk after 19:00 (Kirov Square).

On the way: about 6 hours.
