The museum was founded by A.V. Nechrotaev on April 4, 1941. For a long time there was no own building: it existed at the editorial office of the local newspaper, the station of the youths, the house of pioneers, since 1974 it occupied the first floor of the former house of the merchant Starkov. In 2000 he moved to his own two-storey building, which is an architectural monument of the XIX century. (Until 1917, this building housed the office of the manager of the Ochersky District and the plant, and then a school.) In 1971, the museum was named after A.V. Netsvetaev, the permanent head of the museum, in 1984 was awarded the honorary title of “people’s”, and from July 1, 1999 the museum became a municipal one. Now a new concept for the development of the museum and its exposition has been created. Visitors will be interested in the halls telling about the history of the first fortress theater in the Urals (1807), as well as the fossils of animals (location near the village of Yezhovo), household items of masters of the Ochersk plant. |
