Museum "October-on-Volga"

On May 16, 1995, the City Museum of Local History was opened on a voluntary basis. In 1996, the museum was registered in the Regional Department of Culture, it was awarded the status of a municipal museum, Vladimir Kulpanov was appointed director of the museum.

Today, the Oktyabrsk-on-Volga Museum consists of 5 halls of a permanent local history exposition and an exhibition hall. The fund has 23,641 storage units, of which the main fund has 15,632 storage units, and the scientific and auxiliary fund - 8,009 storage units: these are archaeological finds, ethnographic, numismatic, natural science collections, photographs, rare books, documents and many other collections. They are the centuries-old historical, cultural, social chronicle of the city.
