About the company:

Omsk State Doll Theatre "Harlequin" is one of the most popular cultural institutions among residents of the city. The theater has been counting down its history since 1936, when the premiere of the play “Kashtanka” took place. In the first years, the theater troupe consisted of only six people, and puppets for the first productions were discharged from the famous Moscow theater Sergei Obraztsov.

Exactly a year after the opening, the puppet theater begins touring, but with the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, serious changes occur. Most artists go to the front, but creative activity is not interrupted. Many residents of the destroyed and occupied cities were evacuated to Omsk, some of whom had experience working in the theater. With the influx of new creative forces, the theater changes its profile somewhat and gradually moves from small simple plays to more complex works. In the following years, the troupe was replenished with young artists and directors who received special puppet education, the theater takes an active part in various competitions and festivals.

The main mission of the theater is to care for the young spectator. There are regularly organized exhibitions of children's creativity, creative competitions for the youngest, educational events are held here. The Omsk Doll Theatre "Harlequin" is attentive to its viewer, seeks to meet his needs and always be in close contact with him.
