Church of All Saints (All-Holy Church in the former Cossack cemetery)
Description:
“On the once-abolished vestibule – the reborn All-Holy Church”
A brief historical background. On November 21, 2002, the Omsk City Administration adopted Resolution No. 574-P of “On the Organization of the Cossack Memorial Square in the Central Administrative District of Omsk”. The Omsk-Tar Diocese blessed the decision to restore All the Holy Cemetery Church. Installation of the Cross on the territory of the former Cossack cemetery on May 5, 2003.
In 2005, the Church of All Saints was built, it occupies a compositional center on the territory of the former Cossack cemetery, now turned into a memorial square, which, in accordance with the general plan, was solved in strict planning and landscape and decorative forms (Arch. Valery Baranov). Thus, the churchyard, which was abolished in the 1970s, was returned to its true purpose as a sacred and memorial place: divine services and commemorations for the dead are performed in the erected church.
Architectural idea. The Church of All Saints is designed and built in line with the traditions of wooden chopped tent churches.
Composite and construction engineering solution. The basis of the composition is a high four, to which three-walled cuts are attached from four sides, forming an equifinite cross - "twenty-walls", characteristic of tent buildings of the XVIII century. Cuns with their completions form a baptized barrel, emphasizing the centricity of the composition.
