Omsk

Metro bridge named after the 60th anniversary of Victory

Omsk, Russia

Description:

The Omsk metro line runs along a two-tier bridge across the Irtysh. The bridge is located between two stations - Zarechnaya (the new part of the city) and Pushkin Library (the older central part). Connecting these two parts of the city with a combined auto and metro bridge turned out to be the most profitable solution.

Construction of the bridge started in 2000. The length of the two-level structure is 650 meters. The lower level is occupied by a metro tunnel, and on top there is a six-lane highway, the width of its carriageway is 34 meters. Two pedestrian crossings are planned across the bridge, on which observation decks will be located.

In September 2004 the bridge was named in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Victory. The metro bridge was put into operation in 2005.
