Bridge named after the 60th anniversary of VLKSM

Russia, Omsk region, city of Omsk

Description:

The bridge named after the 60th anniversary of Komsomol was opened in Omsk in 1978. It connects the right and left banks of the Irtysh in the northern part of the city, connects the Left Bank with the Telecenter, the Soviet and Pervomaysky districts.

The construction of the bridge continued for 6 years. Unique methods were applied in the process of its design and construction, which served as a vivid illustration for students of the nearby Highway Institute. The bridge is a steel concrete span structure of the combined system. Arched underbelly belts strengthen the incisive beam.

Four-lane traffic is carried out on the bridge, there are two sidewalks of 2.25 meters wide. Until 2007, there were trams on it.

Externally, the structure looks very elegant and airy. This is one of the most beautiful bridges of Omsk and a bright landmark of the city.
