River Kamyshlovka

Russia, Omsk region, river Kamyshlovka.

Description:

The once large and now shallow river Kamyshlovka flows for 37 kilometers and flows into the Irtysh. The widest place is 15 meters wide, the narrowest is up to 3 meters. Very low flow velocity, it is not always possible to distinguish by eye, in some places it seems that it does not exist at all. There is crucifix and golan in the river.

The true fullness of the river can be seen only during the period of melting snow, which lasts in these parts about twenty days. In the summer, the water in the river dries, in the winter - freezes. The first kilometers of Kamyshlovka flow through the swampy terrain, after which begins what is called the Kamyshlov Lodge - a chain of 6 ponds, both fresh and salty. The river itself can rightfully be called such only in the lower part of the current, in the rest of the segment it either dried up or completely overgrown.

Local residents mine clay and sand on the river bank. As a result, the channel was almost destroyed and in order to revive the once full-flowing Kamyshlovka, it is necessary to clean and deepen the riverbed, strengthen the banks. But, unfortunately, those who want to do this have not yet been found.
