River Yaman
Krutinsky district, Omsk region
Description:
The Yaman River flows near the village of Krutinka, Omsk region. It is one of the tributaries supporting the water supply of Lake Ik. It is popular among fishermen who have been fishing here since the second half of April.
In the first half of the XVIII century for the exploration of the area and the subsequent construction of the Siberian highway attracted Tatars who knew these places. From their words, topographers mapped the names of water bodies and settlements, so the name Yaman, like many others in the Krutinsky district, has a Turkic origin. The area is famous for its fish places and the Yaman River is no exception, during the fishing season hundreds of fishermen come here from Omsk and neighboring areas. Amateurs and professionals rarely leave without a bucket or other large carp.
