Okoneshnikovsky District Historical Museum

The museum was founded on April 24, 1984.

In the museum you can see the expositions “Heroes, your Russia!”, “Marshal Yazov is a man of legend”, “With a field for life” on which you will get acquainted with the biography of the famous throughout the country Marshal and Minister of Defense of the USSR Yazov Dmitry Timofeevich; Hero of the Soviet Union border guard Ivan Strelnikov; with the first woman tractor driver of the Karnaushenko district Matrena Semenovna, who sat next to the Central Committee meetings in Moscow with Joseph Stalin and Mikhail Kalinin, as well as learn about other interesting personal contributions to the district. The museum will be interesting for both adults and children.

As of 01.01.2023, the museum fund is 7526 items of storage.

During the year, the museum displays about 30 exhibitions of various contents. Museum staff develop new programs, excursions, organize interesting meetings.
