Theater for Children and Youth “Free Space”

Theater for children and youth "Free space" was born at the end of 1976, then it was called the Orel theater of young spectators. Its founders were Krasnoyarsk people - director Yuri Kopylov, artist Stanislav Shavlovsky and Leningrad residents led by a young director Boris Zeitlin.

At the same time, the theater defined the sphere of its interests - the inner world of a young man entering a cruel adult world, in 1990 it took a new name - "Free Space". It is a life open before a young man, a stage open to experiments, a meeting place for free people – artists and spectators.

In 2010, the LUDI Chamber and Single Performance Festival was born in the theater, which quickly gained international status and became one of the most significant cultural events in the life of the region.

In 2019, on the eve of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, it was decided to organize the All-Russian Theater Festival “Wings of Victory”, designed to promote the spiritual, moral and civic-patriotic education of children and youth based on dramatic works of military-patriotic orientation.

Today, Free Space successfully works at the junction of musical and dramatic genres. The repertoire of the theater has many musicals and musical performances, which were staged by invited directors: Vera Annenkova, Svetlana Gorshkova, Victoria Pechernikova, Oleg Nikolaev and others. The music for many performances was written by the actor and composer of the theater Andrei Grigoriev.
