The content of the funds is associated with the specific features of the Ostrog Museum, which 90 years ago was created as one of the first provincial art museums in Russia. The art collection of the gallery presents all genres of painting, but the portrait prevails. This accidental circumstance is symbolic: the gallery was created in memory of the outstanding portrait painter - I.N. Kramskoy. Visitors can admire the authentic works of Russian artists of the XIX - early XX centuries: I.N. Kramsky, V.D. Polenov, A.I. Korzukhin, I.Ya.Yaroshenko, I.E. Repin, I.K. Aivazovsky, E.E. Volkov, A.I. Kuindzhi, I.I. Shishkin, etc. Invariable interest is the collection of M.M. Melentiev (antique furniture, bronze XVI - XVIII centuries, porcelain, miniature). The exhibition "Numismatics, Bonistics, Heraldry of our region" also enjoys special attention of visitors. |
On September 25, 1910, the gallery received its first visitors in a specially built building. According to the project of the son of the artist Nikolai Ivanovich Kramsky, the second floor was erected above the fire station, which existed since 1880. |
