Triple lime alley in the city of Pavlovsk
st. Petersburg, Pavlovsk, Pavlovsk Park.
Description:
The Triple Lime Alley was conceived and developed by Charles Cameron as a core in the composition of the Central District. This alley acted as a front entrance to the palace. Initially, lindens were carefully trimmed, but later they were allowed to take the form of free-growing trees. The alley was supposed to acquire the appearance of a green front frame, which colorfully frames the portico in the center of the palace.
The triple alley of linden was developed in parallel with the construction of the entire palace complex. Cameron proposed to arrange in three rows of linden trees, these trees have survived to this day.
Special attention should be paid to the wide passage, which is intended for crews. On the sides of the passage there are narrow pedestrian roads. In the XVIII century, trees were trimmed in the form of balls. In our time, the linden crowns closed and formed a green corridor.
