The museum presents a historical and local history exposition about the city, handicrafts and the development of the textile industry of the region. There are also permanent exhibitions of products of unique enterprises: a collection of woollen padding shawls, a collection of silk curtain and brocade fabrics (tissues are used for the manufacture of church clothes and utensils, for restoration and finishing work in the buildings of theaters, palaces, offices). An exposition was created about the life and work of the People’s Artist of the USSR, film actor V.V. Tikhonov, a native of the city. Art exhibitions of local artists are regularly held. |
