Peterhof and its surroundings

Peterhof is an extravaganza of playing water, a living era of Peter the Great, Empress Elizabeth Petrovna and autocrat Nicholas1. You will drive along the Peterhof road - a whole layer of history of St. Petersburg, Leningrad and the whole country. The road was founded by decree of Peter 1 to eclipse the Versailles road from Paris. Among the preserved most striking sights of the road: Narva Triumphal Gate, Kiryanovo estate, Alexandrino, Vorontsov dacha and the magnificent Constantine Palace.

Every traveler who has ever driven along the picturesque Peterhof road will appreciate the beauty of its sights and fascinating history from the Peter era to the present day. The road was created by Peter to delight travelers. The road begins from Fontanka, the old city border, and leads to the largest fountain structures in the world!

According to tradition, at exactly 11:00 to the sounds of the anthem of the city, the fountains of the Lower Park are launched - this solemn and touching event does not leave anyone indifferent. Especially beautiful is the Great Cascade, Samson, tearing the lion's mouth - a symbol of Russia's victory over the Swedes in the Battle of Poltava.
