Alexander Park in Peterhof
Description:
To the south of the palace and park ensemble of Alexandria, on the other side of St. Petersburg Avenue, there is another landscape park - Alexandrovsky.
Its territory extends to the station area and covers 144 hectares. In the XVIII century on the site of the park was the Big, or Deer, a menagerie surrounded by a hedge. In 1832-1836, according to the project of A.A. Menelas, I.I. Charlemagne, the garden master P.I. Erler drained the territory, dug a picturesque artificial pond with winding banks and three islands, paved gravel roads, planted birch groves, groups of oaks, spruce and pines.
