Alexandria Park in Peterhof
Description:
Park "Alexandria" is a city park in Peterhof, dedicated to Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, wife of Nicholas I. The area of the park is 115 hectares.
The park consists of the coastal and upper terraces on which architectural sights are built: the Cottage, the Capella and the Farm Palace. The park harmoniously alternates glades and hills, a deep ravine and gentle slopes, narrow paths and wide shady alleys.
The construction work in the park was led by the Englishman Adam Menelas. Over the park also worked gardeners Rodionov, Erler, Wendelsdorf, Gombel.
In the park grow oaks, maples, linden, poplar, trees from Kyrgyzstan, Siberia, the Far East and Europe.
