Volcano Gorely - "40 thousand years later"

Gorely volcano is the best choice for an interesting hike with the whole family.

The path to the Gorely volcano runs through the Vilyuchinsky Pass (850 m above sea level) - one of the spurs of the extinct giant - the Vlk. Vilyuchinsky hill. An unusually picturesque place, rich in the diversity of alpine flora, bordering on eternal ice.

The viewing platform offers a panoramic view of 9 volcanoes of the southern part of the peninsula.

Our way to the top will begin with a green (seasonally) plateau, saturated with wonderful aromas that exude amazing flowers of Kamchatka. Further, on packed paths, we will climb to the top of an active volcano, where our eyes will open to the views of the neighboring peaks of mountain giants, and when we look down, we will see lakes that rest at the depth of craters.

Climbing to the top of Gorely is a serene journey through an extraordinary landscape shaped by volcanic architecture.

The highest point of the route is 1829 m.

Start from base camp at an altitude of 1000 m.

Duration (ascent + descent) - 5 hours at a calm pace.

The total length of the pedestrian part of the route is 10 km.

Programme of the day:

• 08:30 departure from the city in the direction of Mutnovskaya Geoelectric Power Plant;
• 10:00 Vilyuchinsky Pass is a 20-minute stop on the way to the excursion site. This is an observation deck at an altitude of just under 1000 m with the opportunity to enjoy beautiful landscapes and take great photos for memory;
• 10:50 Arrival to the place of excursion;
• 11:00 exit to the route;
• 16:00 return to the vehicle;
• 16:30 – 17:00 transfer to the mountain springs (optional);
• 19:30 – 20:00 arrival in the city.
