White waterfalls

Kamchatka Territory, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

Description:

White waterfalls are located in the southern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula on the outer slope of the central crater of the Koshelevsky volcano. One waterfall - East - consists of a steep continuous cascade of rapids, the other - West - falls almost from a vertical cliff. They earned their name due to the white color of the water at the place of fall and precipitation, which is explained by the content of aluminum oxide in them. White waterfalls declared a monument of nature and taken under the protection of the state.
