Kizhi Museum-Reserve is one of the largest open-air museums in Russia. It is a unique historical, cultural and natural complex, which is a particularly valuable object of cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia. The basis of the museum collection is the Kizhi Pogost ensemble - an object of the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage. Restoration of monuments of Kizhsky church is taking place “in front of the whole world”. In 2014, the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, which is part of the Kizhsky Pogost ensemble, celebrated its 300th anniversary.
