Petrozavodsk

All in 3 days! Rafting + excursions

Description:

1 day - Friday

Hello Karelia! Well, here we are! (meeting train 018A – arrival in Petrozavodsk 08:30). Arriving by later trains – pay extra for the transfer.

We get on the bus and head to our campground.

The profits are beautiful! We're settling in tents. Are you hungry? Breakfast!

Don’t be too long – the most interesting thing is ahead!

We're going to meet. After a short briefing, we are ready to conquer the rapids of the Tivdia River. We sit in the rafts, but do not rush - to start working out practical skills in calm water.

Practice and go!

It's so beautiful. What do you see in the distance? We should see. We land on the shore, look around - we have a marble mountain. It was here in tsarist times that marble of the highest quality was obtained for decoration of outstanding architectural creations of the Russian Empire (Winter, Tauride, Marble Palaces, etc.).

Slowly we climb past the giant marble steps overgrown with moss.

It's gonna be great!

The top is covered! What a sight! Who hasn’t been photographed yet, now is the time!

Impressed by the beauty of Karelian nature, we sit in the rafts and go on.

We have thresholds ahead.

International kayaker competitions are held annually on the thresholds of the Tivdia River. The river wave is ideal for freestyle on rough water. We won't be left out either.

An adrenaline cocktail of excitement, drive and emotions - this you hardly experienced!

After conquering the tivdian wave, we return to the camp. We deserve this dinner!

After a hearty lunch with tasting of Karelian tinctures, we exchange impressions and relax.

And in the evening - gatherings by the fire and a delicious dinner.

Day 2 - Saturday

How well you sleep in tents in the fresh air! After that, the breakfast tastes better.

Today is a day of calm and unhurried rest. This is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the surroundings, swim, sunbathe or ride rafts. Your appetite will not let you forget about lunch and dinner. For an additional fee - a bath - 100 rubles / person.

The most restless can go on a water trip for an additional fee

Fish island.

The island is famous for unique monuments of wooden architecture (buildings of the 17th century). The Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul of 1620 is especially distinguished. The first mention of it dates back to the 16th century. The church is a twin of the Assumption Church in Kondopoga and is executed in the best traditions of northern architecture. As on the famous island of Kizhi, the center of Karelian culture was located here. Today, no one lives on the island, only avid summer residents and a rare tourist peek in the summer. Water travel will bring a lot of pleasure to lovers of untouched nature.

The cost of the tour is 1000 rubles / bp, 500 rubles / day. Duration - approx. 6 hours.

Day 3 - Sunday

Well, here comes the final day of rest in Karelia.

Breakfast, take the bus and say goodbye to our camp and instructors. There's a busy program ahead.

Have you ever seen a real Paleovolcano? Now we'll see. It is located near the village of Girvas. Follow the guide on the ancient (more than 2 billion years) frozen rock and learn a lot of interesting things. Don't forget to take pictures.

After a walk through the volcano, we will visit the Federal Reserve. Here in its heart is the famous waterfall Kivach. The most unforgettable photos tourists bring from here.

We look at the waterfall and take pictures. You also have the opportunity to walk around the reserve, see rare tree species, including the famous Karelian birch, and visit the nature museum.

Well, the final point of our trip is the Assumption Church in Kondopoga - a unique architectural structure, one of the most worthy monuments of northern wooden architecture. It rises above the waters of Lake Onega for 42 meters, being a kind of beacon for travelers. Impressive slender lines, some airy outlines of the church, especially considering that it was built without a single nail.

Upon completion of the excursion program, we go to Petrozavodsk at the railway station by 18.00.

All good things come to an end. Your vacation in Karelia has also come to an end. We hope that he brought you a lot of positive emotions and impressions, and also charged you with energy for new achievements. We are looking forward to seeing you in Karelia again!
