Karelia. Magic recipes. Sampo Mill.

Description:

The sons of "Kalevala" matched the beautiful, but evil daughters of Louhi, the mistress of Pohyoly. And so Louhi announced that she would give her daughter to the one who forges for her a magic windmill Sampo, otherwise “a colorful lid”. Louhi made her order exactly and attached a recipe for its manufacture:

You can make a Sampo,

I'm going to put a lid on it.

Taking the end of the winch feather,

The milk of unfit cows,

From the sheep of summer wool,

The barley corn added

This recipe is repeated in the Karelian-Finnish epic "Kalevala" more than once and clearly is not accidental. Having analyzed it, we see that Louhi mentions the four main types of farming. The feather of a winch means hunting; the milk of a cow and the wool of a sheep are two kinds of animal husbandry; the grain of barley means agriculture. And the blacksmith must put these symbols of forestry and agriculture on the anvil, to chain them together a wonderful machine, that is, to connect with the concept of iron, with the concept of mechanism.

But it's not that simple. . You will learn the rest on a special tour dedicated to this magical event.
