Jeep tour "To the foot of the Girvas volcano"

This tour is also called the "Golden Ring of Karelia" - almost the only one-day route, during which you can see a large number of attractions surrounded by beautiful Karelian nature. We will be overcoming off-road on prepared jeeps. We will see the filming locations of two films and taste the healing water from three sources. We will arrange a picnic in the fresh air, visit the Kivach reserve and get a sea of wonderful impressions on this journey!

Route thread: Petrozavodsk — Valley of hares — Marcial waters — Palyeozerskaya HPP — volcano Girvas — Poor-Porrog River Suna — waterfall Kivach — Petrozavodsk.

One-day tour, total run of about 250 km.

Valley of hares

Visiting a unique art object located near Petrozavodsk. The rock with many carved hare figures is able to impress both children and adults.

Marcial Waters and Ancient Volcano

You are waiting for a tasting of healing water from three sources, an inspection of the Church of the Apostle Peter, built according to the drawings of Peter I in 1721. Souvenirs can be purchased at the resort. After that, we will go to the village of Girvas, inspect the Paleozerskaya HPP and the ancient volcano.

Off-road part of the route

Our way will pass along the Pioneer Canal towards Paleozer. Depending on the time of year and weather conditions, the difficulty of the track can vary greatly. After reaching the lake, we will have a picnic on the shore (meat and vegetables on the grill, hot tea). After a delicious lunch, we will pass through one of the special stages of the annual Girvas off-road sports festival. We'll go to the runway of an abandoned military airfield.

We will visit the most beautiful Poor-threshold on the Suna River - the location of the filming of the modern version of the film "And the Dawns Are Quiet Here". In the Kivach reserve, we will explore the second largest waterfall in Europe, where water falls from four steps almost 11 meters high. We will walk through the arboretum and look at the nature museum.

Programme

10:00 - Departure from Petrozavodsk.
10:30 - Inspection of the Valley of the Hares.
11.00 – Visit the first Russian resort Marcial Waters. If necessary, there is a toilet at the resort.
12.00 - Girvas village: inspection of the Paleozerskaya HPP and an ancient volcano.
13.00 - Off-road part of the route.
13.30 - Picnic on the shore of Paleozer.
14.30 - Passing one of the special stages of the annual motor festival on off-road sports "Girvas".
15.30 - Departure to the runway of an abandoned military airfield.
16.00 – Visit the beautiful Poor-threshold on the Suna River.
17.00 - Visit to the reserve "Kivach" and the waterfall Kivach.
19.00 - Return to Petrozavodsk.
