Off-road adventure

Jeep tours are one of the types of active recreation, consisting in overcoming off-road on specially prepared cars.

The route line: Petrozavodsk - Teruselga - Kokkoila - Manga - Petrozavodsk.

One-day tour, total run of about 200 km.

Dates: from May to November (also possible in the winter months depending on the depth of the snow cover).

Deep ruts, dirt, fords, heavily rugged terrain with steep ascents and descents, heavily wetlands - all this, inaccessible to an ordinary motorist, becomes quite surmountable if you are driving a real SUV.

An experienced instructor in each jeep will always help with advice, conduct a master class on overcoming especially difficult areas and, if you do not drive a car, he will pass the entire route himself, allowing you to enjoy the off-road and beauty of the wild nature of Karelia from the passenger seat.

All routes are laid in such a way as to combine overcoming off-road with visiting interesting and inaccessible places: ancient abandoned villages hidden in the remote taiga, monuments of wooden architecture hidden from prying eyes, beautiful forest lakes and rivers. Tour programme

• 10.00 Departure from Petrozavodsk on the route. Movement on the federal highway R-21 "Kola" to the village of Svyatozero (about 60 kilometers).
• 11.30 Cars move off the asphalt and begin their difficult journey on forest roads overcoming off-road of varying degrees of complexity. Throughout the route, participants have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the northern forest: small lakes-lambushki, cheerfully sparkling in the sun, age-old trees, majestically bent over the road. Often you can see the indigenous inhabitants of the taiga - various animals and birds. It can be grouse and deaf, hares, foxes, moose and even a bear.
• 12.30 Arrival in the ancient Karelian village of Teruselga. Inspection of the chapel of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God and the Meeting of the Lord of the 19th century.
• 13.00 Lunch on the shore of a picturesque lake. Meat on coals, hot tea.
• 14.00 Continuation of the route. Inspection of the chapel of Barbara the Great Martyr in the village of Kokkoila. It was from Kokkoila that the famous barn was transported to the Kizhi Museum-Reserve.
• 15.00 Completion of the off-road part of the trip, inspection of another monument of wooden architecture - the chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin of the 18th century, located in the village of Manga.
• 17:00 Return to Petrozavodsk.
