Podolsk, Russia

Description:

The monument to the working class in Podolsk is the first to welcome all guests of the city - it is located on the railway station square. The features of totalitarian art, its power and majesty are immediately striking.

The sculpture “Podolsk city of working class” was opened in 1969, its authors Yu. Lyubimov, L. Zemskov and L. Skrob. Their task was to convey the generalized labor glory of the Podolsk citizens of different generations, to tell about the exploits of the labor heroes of the first and postwar five-year plans. The monument reflects the periods of formation of mechanical engineering, energy, space exploration, and behind all this stands a simple working man, ready to develop and move forward. Undoubtedly, the monument is made in the best traditions of its time.
