Dubrovica Manor
Russia, Moscow region, Podolsky district, Dubrovica settlement
Description:
The Dubrovica estate is located in the village of Podolsky district, at a distance of about 36 kilometers from Moscow. Its history dates back almost 5 centuries and is associated with such famous personalities as the boyar Morozov and Prince Golitsyn.
The central place in the estate complex is occupied by the functioning Church of the Sign of the Virgin. This magnificent temple built in the late 17th century is a true architectural masterpiece. The grandiose structure with baroque elements stands on a high base, has open galleries and fan-spreading stairs. The high octagonal tower, towering over the four-petaled first tier, is crowned by a unique openwork dome. The facade and interior of the building are decorated with bas-reliefs, round sculpture and stone carvings.
To this day, there is also a brick house of the 18th century, built by a descendant of the Grand Duke. Rebuilt many times in the future, it turned from Baroque into a model of classicism. On the main staircase of the Golitsyn Palace sit stone lions. Also of architectural interest is the equestrian courtyard, which is made in pseudo-Gothic style.
