Klenovo Manor
klenovo, Podolsky district, Moscow region, Russian Federation
Description:
The village of Klenovo is known from written documents from the XVII century. The local estate has survived to this day in relatively good condition. At least, being here, you can get a real idea of the estate complex. Fragments of the main house, built at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries, a one-storey outbuilding with a mezzanine, the Peter and Paul temple of 1793, also the remains of an ancient park, have reached us.
One of the earliest buildings in the village of Klenov was the Church of Nicholas the Wonderworker. It is known that by the middle of the XVIII century it was seriously dilapidated, and in 1755 the then owner of the estate, Prince Cherkasy, received permission to build a new temple. In 1793, a brick church of Saints Peter and Paul with a Nikolsky chapel was built. The temple was made in the style of early classicism in the type of "eight on four", with a refectory.
