Pleshcheyevo Manor

d. Podolsk, st. Pleshcheevskaya, 57

Description:

Manor Pleshcheyevo (Pospelovo) is located in the city of Podolsk, Moscow region. In the XIV century, there were the possessions of the boyar Fyodor Byakont, then his son Alexander Pleschei, from whose nickname, probably, the name of the estate went. The name Pospelovo estate received thanks to V.P. Pospelov, who was its owner at the beginning of the XVIII century. In 1820, when the estate was owned by Prince A.A. Cherkassky, according to the project of architect E.D. Tyurin, a new main manor house in the style of classicism was built. Throughout its history, the estate has changed owners many times. When her mistress was Baroness N.F. von Meck, composer P.I. Tchaikovsky visited Pleshcheyevo.

In Soviet times, in different years, the estate housed a children's labor colony, a tuberculosis dispensary, a sanatorium, a working dormitory. Currently, the preserved manor buildings are used as housing.

To this day, the main manor house has been preserved, to which in 1852 a kitchen extension was added, and in 1926 the second floor, an economic building, which now houses a church, a wing, 4 stone obelisks located at the entrance to the manor, was added. Fragments of the park are also preserved.
