The museum is located in the Ivanovskoye estate in the city of Podolsk on the picturesque bank of the Pakhra River. What is the connection between a noble estate and professional education? Straight! In the Soviet period of our history in 1940, a powerful system of training personnel for the industry of the USSR was created - the state system "Labor reserves", eventually renamed the system of vocational education (VTO). It was this system that saved the estate from destruction and gave it a second life as a museum.

Today the Federal Museum of Vocational Education is a multidisciplinary, scientific-methodical and cultural-educational institution of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The expositions of the museum tell not only about the history of professional education of Russia from the Petrine era to the present day, but also about the most famous folk crafts of Russia, about the former owners of the estate, outstanding figures of Russian history - the statesman A. A. Zakrevsky and the family of patrons of the Bakhrushin.

Our museum has many friends and partners, is a member of the Association of Scientific and Technical Museums of the Russian branch of ICOM, the Union of Museums of Russia.
