Previously, on the site of our city was the village of Podol, belonging to the Moscow St. Danilov Monastery. The city of Podolsk became in 1781. The founder of the city is Catherine II, who in 2008 in Podolsk opened a monument. The Empress is depicted at the time of signing a decree on assigning the city status to the village of Podol. Let’s start our journey around the city from Catherine Square, which is located on the station square. Anyone who comes to Podolsk by train can start exploring the city with a monument to this Russian queen. During our walk we will visit the first Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podolsk, admire the beauty of the historical center of the city from the observation deck. We will walk along the Glory Square, where the monument to the wars of the Great Patriotic War is located, we will stop at the eternal fire.
