Local Lore Museum of Pokhvistnevo

The museum was founded on the basis of the House of Pioneers in 1991 as the local history club "Istoki". Opened in 1995 in the building of the former savings bank. In 1988 he was granted the status of "School Museum". Since 2001 - the municipal city museum. Since 2007 - in the structure of the MUK "Museum and House of Crafts".

The museum is the only place in the city and in the district where you can get acquainted with the history of your native land. The museum organizes expositions: "Peasant hut", "Nature and archeology of the region", "Merchant's living room", "Our countrymen are participants in wars", "Orthodox books and icons", "History of the city", as well as shifting exhibitions in two exhibition halls, which are updated every two months. Interactive classes, excursions to the villages of Pokhvistnevsky district are systematically conducted.

In 2007, the museum moved to a 2-storey building.
