Priozersk Historical and Local Lore Museum "Korela"

About the company:

The museum is located in a building built in 1962 on the model of the New Arsenal of the 16th century on the territory of the fortress of Korela, founded by the Novgorodians in 1310. Of interest are the surviving buildings of the 16th century: the Old Arsenal, the Powder Cellar, the Round Tower, the gates of which, by order of Peter I, were covered with Swedish breastplates in honor of the liberation of Kexholm from the Swedes in 1710.

The museum has more than 12,000 exhibits. The richest is the archaeological section, where the finds of archaeological expeditions are collected in the fortress of Korela, the Piversky town, on the territory of the Priozersky district.
