Historical Museum of Prokhladny

The museum employs four employees and three researchers. The collection of the museum includes more than seven thousand three hundred and forty items, six thousand five hundred items of the collection are presented in the exposition and are included in the main funds of the museum. The museum, through documents, photographs and authentic objects, presents the history, ethnography, culture of the Prokhladno Cossacks, i.e. the Terek Cossacks. Of great interest to visitors of the museum is the interior of the Cossack dwelling, recreated in the 1st hall of the museum. The interior presents numerous household items characteristic of the Terek Cossacks (late XIX - early XX centuries). The Historical Museum of Prokhladny operates in the form of a non-profit institution of historical specialization, that is, it does not have as the main purpose of its activity the extraction of profit and does not distribute the profit received among the participants. The Historical Museum of Prokhladny is an organization of regional: regional or regional subordination. The main activities of the museum: cultural and research.
