Near Pskov, just 30 kilometers away, is the village of Stary Izborsk. By the way, in the Middle Ages, Izborsk was a large city through which trade routes passed, and was one of the 10 oldest cities of Russia (the first mention of Izborsk in the chronicle dates back to 862). 20 kilometers from Izborsk, on the very border of Russia, there is a pearl of the Pskov land - the Holy Dormition Pskov-Pechersk Monastery. It is the only monastery in the whole of Russia, where the service has been going on continuously since 1473. The monastery operated both in the years of Soviet power and during the Great Patriotic War. But our monastery is not only a holy monastery, but also a fortress that fought from the time of Ivan the Terrible to the time of Peter I.

• 11:30 – 12:00 – moving to Izborsk (30 km). Track tour.
• 12:00 – 14:00 – excursion to Izborsk (Izborsk fortress of the XIV-XVI centuries, Slovenian keys).
• 14:00 – 14:30 – moving to Pechora (20 km). Track tour.
• 14:30 – 15:15 – lunch in Pechora.
• 15:30 – 17:15 – visit to the Pskov-Pechersk monastery. Tour, free time.
• 17:30 - Departure to Pskov (52 km).
• 18:30 - Arrival in Pskov. If necessary, transfer to the railway station.

Important information: as part of a group tour, visiting the distant caves of the Pskov-Pechersk Monastery is impossible. Nearby caves are available to visit.

* After the tour, if necessary, a free transfer to the Pskov railway station is provided. Arrival at Pskov railway station at 18:30 (train No. 10 Pskov – Moscow 19:30).

We recommend girls and women to bring scarves and skirts to visit the Pskov-Pechersk monastery. You can also take empty bottles with you to collect water in the monastery well in Pechora and bread for white swans, which are huddled all year round on the surface of Gorodischensky Lake in Izborsk.

If you do not order lunch, we recommend that you bring a dry ration.

Please note that the distant caves are the resting place of the monastery brethren. The caves have their own microclimate, the violation of which affects the state of sandstone (humidity increases), so access there is limited. In the format of a group tour, visiting the Far Caves is not possible.
