Pskov is not only an ancient city, but also the largest fortress in Europe: the length of its fortress walls is 9 kilometers. You can appreciate the scale of the medieval city, its beauty and power on our bus and walking tour of Pskov. As part of the tour, you will find several short journeys, and a number of walking walks.

11:30 – departure for an excursion to Izborsk and Pechora. Near Pskov, just 30 kilometers away, is the village of Stary Izborsk. By the way, in the Middle Ages, Izborsk was a large city through which trade routes passed, and was one of the 10 oldest cities of Russia (the first mention of Izborsk in the chronicle dates back to 862). 20 kilometers from Izborsk, on the very border of Russia, there is a pearl of the Pskov land - the Holy Dormition Pskov-Pechersk Monastery. It is the only monastery in the whole of Russia, where the service has been going on continuously since 1473. The monastery operated both in the years of Soviet power and during the Great Patriotic War. But our monastery is not only a holy monastery, but also a fortress that fought from the time of Ivan the Terrible to the time of Peter I.
