Excursion to the historical center of Pskov Pskov

During the tour we will visit the Kremlin - the heart of Pskov. Let us recall how the city began, how the Pskov Veche was noisy on the Veche Square, we will visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the 17th century, where there is a seven-tiered (!) iconostasis of the early 18th century, miraculous icons, cancer with the relics of Pskov saints. Then we take a walk through the historic city center. Remember Pskov as a major trading city, a center of international trade and an important fortress that withstood many sieges and attacks.

We will see the largest tower of the Pskov fortress - Pokrovskaya and talk about the longest siege of the city by the troops of the Polish king at the end of the XVI century. Invariable in my excursion is the theme of Pskov architecture, which, according to Gogol, is the chronicle of the world. We will understand the features of Pskov temples, see temples included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, including the Grand Art of Pskov church art, which served as a source of inspiration for the famous French architect Le Corbusier.

We will see merchant chambers, including the largest in the city and the whole of Russia - Pogankin Chamber. We will admire the beautiful views of the Pskov fortress. Pskov is magnificent at any time of the year. Come here!
