In one day you will learn the history of the construction of the fortress city of Pskov, one of the ancient cities in Russia - Izborsk and the only monastery in Russia, operating since the creation - Pechersky!

I present to your attention the itinerary of one day, during which you will get acquainted with Pskov and its huge fortress, one of the largest in Russia and Europe. Visit the neighboring Izborsk, where the fortress of the XIV century is preserved and the miraculous Slovenian keys beat. Visit the Holy Dormition Pskov Caves Monastery, which has been conducting its continuous prayer service to God since its creation, i.e. since the XV century.

Pskov is a city-fortress that has endured many sieges and came out of all of them with victory. “Pskov walls are strong,” said Pskov. And we will drive along these walls, which is more than 9 km. We will remember the first written mention of the city, which refers to the beginning of the X century. We will remember our great countrywoman, the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles All-Russian Princess Olga, and visit places dedicated to her. We will meet temples included in the list of monuments protected by UNESCO, admire them and, on the example of one of them, learn about the features of Pskov architecture. We will be surrounded by historical buildings, merchant chambers, numerous Pskov churches and powerful fortress walls and all this will leave the most vivid impression in your memory.

After getting acquainted with Pskov, we will go with you to the Pechora district of the Pskov region, which is also the westernmost of all. It's 50 km to Pechora. All this time on the way, I will tell you the story of the creation of the Pechersk Monastery, and once in place, we will first go to the observation deck, from where you will admire the amazingly beautiful view of the monastery. Then we will go inside the monastery, where I will acquaint you with the temples and chapels, with the refectory and Sacristy, the fraternal building and the viceroyal house, with the main patronal temple - the Assumption Cathedral. This is an unusual cave temple, where the most revered shrines of the monastery and its main icon are kept. We will definitely visit it where you will see it all. We will also visit the Caves of God-given, their near part, where the relics of the four saints are located. To visit the Far Caves of the monastery, you need to send a preliminary application to the excursion monastery service, where you will be recorded for the exact time, which you will be informed.

After the tour, you can go to the church and souvenir shops, collect holy water in one of the springs.
Well, towards the end of the day, we'll head to Izborsk. It is located almost in the middle between Pechora and Pskov, and drive to it only 20 km.

All this time I will again fill with stories: about Izborsk, as the oldest city of Russia, about the legendary Prince Truvor and Truvorv settlement, about the Izborsko-Maly valley as a protected place with amazingly picturesque beauty, about the famous miraculous Slovenian keys and much more that we will meet not on the road to Izborsk, but during walking along it.
Once in the Izborsk fortress, you can walk along the secret exit to the water, walk along the battle course of the fortress, climb the Lukovka tower, from the height of which you will be fascinated by the expanses and beauty of the Malsk valley.

And after getting acquainted with the fortress and visiting the Nikolsky Cathedral of the XIV century, we will go to Gorodische Lake, into which the Slovenian keys flow. There are also swans, on which you can admire and feed, if you grab for them tasties suitable for their digestion!
