Michael-Arkhangelsk Cathedral

181500, Pskov region, Pechora, str. International, No. 5

Description:

Mikhailo-Arkhangelsk Cathedral was built in one of the districts of Pskov, which was called Gorodetsky end. Date of foundation: 1399, this is indicated by the inscription preserved inside the building. Today it is a working temple.

The church has largely preserved its original appearance and architecture. The oldest elements are the walls and pillars of the temple, vaults of cylindrical shape. The temple is decorated with unique patterns covered with glaze. The covering of the church dome was not preserved, the damaged tiles on it had to be replaced with iron.

The temple has been rebuilt many times. Once there were two chapels, only one of them has survived to this day. Additional extensions, galleries and more were also prepared. All this made the overall look more cumbersome. On the roof was installed a roof from a straight ramp.
