Lake Dubets

Bezhanitsky district, in the southeast of the Pskov region.

Description:

In the south-eastern part of the Pskov region, on the territory of the Bezhensky district stretches amazingly beautiful lake Dubets. It covers an area of 10.3 square kilometers. The reservoir is not very deep, since the maximum level of fresh water reaches a level of no more than two and a half meters.

This lake is flowing and connects with the Great River due to the Sushchevsky Canal and the Sorot and Ashevka duct. It is known that Dubets belongs to the hazel-carnal type of lake. There are such underwater inhabitants: pike, vin, lim, yarsh, golden carp, redfin, guster, perch, roach, bream.

From the east side, the coast is rapidly eroding, due to which very often in the water you can stumble upon stumps and tree trunks. In the 30s of the twentieth century, buried oak trunks were mined here, which is why, most likely, this is the name of the lake. Remarkable is the fact that only here lives dwarf bream, which in other reservoirs is not found.
