Flat and high towers

Two towers – the High and the Flat – were built at the very gate of the Pskov fortress and performed a protective role, held the defense. In their design, they are similar to each other, have a cylindrical shape and differ only in the tops and diameter.

The tall tower was destroyed in the early twentieth century, and repaired only in the middle.

The flat tower was also rebuilt, damaged due to the fire, but restoration work brought it back to normal. For a long time the tower simply collapsed, only in the twentieth century seriously engaged in its condition.

In modern times, the towers Flat and High are rightfully the main attractions of the city of Pskov. They cause interest, they come to see tourists from different parts of the globe. There are excursions.
