181500, Pskov region, Pechora, str. International, No. 5

Description:

One of the most majestic male monasteries in Russia is called the Holy Assumption Pskov-Pechersk Monastery and has a centuries-old history. In 1473, the church of the Assumption excavated in the sand was consecrated here, this date is considered the date of the foundation of the monastery. This monastery has functioned throughout its history.

In the interwar period and until 1944, it was located within Estonia, thanks to which it was preserved. In 1470, a monk Ioan, who was a former priest of the St. George Church, settled in the cave. He dug a cave in which he built the Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God, and then in 1473 consecrated it. A monastery was formed around the temple after a while.

In our time, this cathedral is a constant holy place of pilgrimage for many parishioners. It includes a number of cathedrals that you can visit and feel the atmosphere of the prayer place.
