Description:

Today, the ancestral nest of the nobles of the Philosophers has become a historical and cultural center of the Philosophers. Initially, the building of the end of the nineteenth century belonged to the Minister of Industry and Trade D. A. Filosofov and members of his family. The expositions on display in its premises tell about the nature, history, culture, economy of Bezhanitsky Krai, about all representatives of this famous noble family in Russia and abroad, including the first military prosecutor of Russia V.D. Philosophilov, the ancestor of the Russian feminist movement of Russia A.P. Philosophiva, about the literary and publishing activities of D.V. Filosofov.

The center of the estate is a luxurious manor house, which stands on a hill and rises above the land. The east side of the house overlooks the park with Black Pond. In July 1825, A. Pushkin visited here.

In 1863, during the peasant uprisings, the estate was burned down and the land was ravaged. For a long time this territory remained abandoned and lost all its appearance, and during the Great Patriotic War the entire park was cut down.

Already in the Soviet years, the estate, which occupies almost 21 hectares of land, was recognized as an architectural monument and restored.
